The powerful drive system ensures fast, efficient and dependable operation. The electric motor, with integral gearbox, connected to a drive shaft by heavy duty roller chain, opens the door rapidly. The motor and electrical systems are mounted 450mm or more above the floor on the inside of the door for easy maintenance.
Hi-fold door panels are constructed from all welded, heavy duty structural steel tubes for durability and minimal maintenance. Doors over 12m wide are made in two sections bolted together through robust steel butt-plate joints. Strong mounting hinges are welded to the top rail.
The 'dogleg' centre hinge design provides a double strength beam for optimum strength in the fully open position.
Personnel doors, for swift access, and windows can be incorporated in Hi-fold doors. A wide range of styles and sizes is available.
Automatic 'knee-action' jamb latches release the door when opening and grab latching hardware on the building when closing to pull it tight against the jambs, for maximum security. These are another features of the doors.
Hi-fold doors are available with a choice of cladding profiles to match or compliment the building. Doors can be insulated to meet current thermal regulations if required.
Hi-fold doors can replace sliding and overhead doors or cover doorless openings on existing buildings without losing width clearance. Existing lintels are normally adequate for mounting Hi-Fold doors and buildings modifications, if any, are minimal. Our technical expertise enables us to design and provide additional support frames if required. Doors fitted to the sides of buildings still achieve maximum height clearance.
The Hi-fold door is unaffected by weather extremes. When fully open, it forms a canopy over the opening for protection from sun and rain. The centre hinge folding action and high-strength cable lift system also pulls the door up and away from any buildup of snow or ice to ensure all year round operation.
